Artist: Liane Ricci
Biography
Liane Ricci was born in Sleepy Hollow, NY in 1970, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Her work is particularly noted for brightly-colored compositions which reflect Art Deco and modern graffiti styles. There is also an obvious connection with textile design, shown in geometric prints and a kaleidoscope of colors, as Ricci draws on her experience working with costume and fashion, showing influence from designers such as Emilio Pucci and the Finnish company, Marimekko. (Ricci worked for Barbara Matera Ltd., renowned costumer for dance companies and Broadway musicals, where she created hand-painted fabrics, crystal embellishments and foam constructions for The Lion King, Wicked, The Boy from Oz and American Ballet Theatre's Carnival of the Animals.)

Liane Ricci and Susan Eley Fine Art have been paired together since the gallery's inaugural exhibition in 2006. Additional galleries include George Billis Gallery, Los Angeles, Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, New York and Bryant Street Gallery, Palo Alto. She has exhibited extensively at various New York venues, including the AAF Contemporary Art Fair, BWAC Pier Show 12 and Williamsburg Art and Historical Center. Ricci has been affiliated with the Brooklyn Arts Council Registry of Artists (BAC), the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) and Artists Space in SoHo. Notable commissions include the MGM City Center, Las Vegas, and the Four Seasons Villas. Ricci has studied at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York City, and at the Hartford Art School in West Hartford, Connecticut.
