SEFA Opening New Pop-Up Location in Hudson, NY

Susan Eley Fine Art is pleased to be opening a temporary pop-up gallery in Hudson, NY.

We are delighted to announce the opening of a Pop-Up gallery in Hudson, NY, from July 1, 2020 – January 31, 2021.

When the pandemic compelled us to temporarily close our New York City gallery in March, we pivoted and developed a rich array of online exhibitions and other programming. While our virtual activities have been satisfying, we have greatly missed seeing our friends, collectors and artists in the gallery. And no matter how high a high res JPEG of a painting is, nothing beats the real thing!

Our Hudson gallery is a 900-square-foot space in a historic building (1920) along Warren Street, the arterial heart of the historic district, and the town’s hub for theater, art, antiquing, retail and dining.

Our inaugural exhibition ‘Summer Selects’ will include paintings and drawings by established gallery artists who work in abstraction and figuration, including Angela A’Court, Francie Hester, Carole Eisner, James Isherwood, Chase Langford, Carlos Puyol, Liane Ricci and Alicia Rothman.

We will be following the rules and regulations around the phased opening for retail establishments in Columbia County, requiring all visitors to wear a mask or face covering, and limiting the number of people inside the gallery at one time.

Hudson, AKA “Brooklyn North”, is 120 miles from New York City and easily reachable by a two-hour train from Penn Station. In addition to a walk down Warren, there is much to do in the region. Cultural and historic activities include Olana, once home to Frederic Edwin Church; the Thomas Cole National Historic Site; Hudson Hall, for art, theater, dance and more; Bard College and its Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and the LUMBERYARD Center for Film and Performing Arts. To learn more about what to do in the region go here.
